1937 Wayne International Conventionals

Year: 1937 (approximately)

Model: Wayne Conventionals on International chassis

Owner/Operator: "Mehlville Public School District," St. Louis, Missouri

Location: St. John Elementary School, St. Louis, Missouri

Quoted from Todd's Email:
"Some of Mehlville's first school buses. At the time, they read "MEHLVILLE PUBLIC SCHOOL DISTRICT" on the sides. In 1937, the state of Missouri mandated that school transportation should be free for students. A local election was then held during the summer of 1937 to authorize the purchase of three buses for the Mehlville School District."

Note: These buses were purchased in 1937, but look to have an older chassis and body style (perhaps '35 or '36) in comparison to the Wayne on the left.
