1960s VanWilson GMC

Year: 1960s

Model: VanWilson body with a GMC chassis

Location: Saskatchewan

Note: VanWilson buses are rarely seen and were produced for a very short while.  Using buses produced by Superior Coach of Lima, Ohio and Kosciusko, Mississippi, the VanWilson company began its school bus division by re-branding and selling buses to Canadian customers.  By at least 1966, VanWilson was producing its own buses.

The VanWilson company had a broad range of interests, selling at different times milk and bread trucks, hydraulic lifts, dump truck bodies, and funeral coaches.

Much of this information was retrieved from an essay written c.1959.
