Buses in Michigan manufactured after October 1, 1990 were the first required to have the 8-light warning system.  Buses built prior to this date were only required to have the four red lights common on older Michigan buses.  This bus apparently underwent a retrofit as indicated by the mismatched amber warning light visors and a modified control panel (not shown).  It is a 1990 model, but had the wasps been better hosts, I would have been able to verify whether or not this bus was built before or after the October 1 date, and therefore determine whether this bus was retrofitted out of necessity or preference.  This bus also had components hanging from the engine compartment, so it is likely that it does not run.

Update: Its sister bus 90-23 was found in Auburn Hills, Michigan.  The manufacture plate indicates that 90-23 was made before October 1, and therefore may have been retrofitted out of preference.
