Year: 1987 Model: 72-passenger Carpenter Conventional on a GMC 6000 chassis with a General Motors gasoline engine and an Allison automatic transmission. ID: 21 Owner/Operator: Alliance City Schools, Alliance, Ohio Location: Alliance, Ohio With 23 years of service at one school district, this school bus has been in service since 1987 when it was brand new. It worked full time until the end of 2008 when it was used for a spare for the remainder of the school year. It will be retired at the end of the 2008 - 2009 school year and will be sold on eBay. This was the last gasoline bus the district purchased before they got their first diesel buses in 1989. The lift in the rear had been taken out in 1992, the lift door was bolted or welded shut, and seats were added. The new bus #21 had just arrived when this photograph had taken. Photos By: P.
