Bus 14 was purchased by Mehlville in 1972 along with Buses 11 and 12, and
15-17. There was no Bus 13 purchased, and to this day, there is no bus numbered
"13" in the Mehlville School District fleet. In 1979 I asked the then Mehlville
transportation supervisor--Mr. Lou Thebeau--why there was no Bus 13. His
response was that "no one would drive it" fearing it was bad luck!
