1980s Blue Bird GMC Conventional

In the background of this picture, you might notice an archway.  This stands as a monument to the tragic Italian Hall Disaster in 1913, where 73 men, women, and children lost their lives on Christmas Eve.  You can read more by clicking here: 1913 Massacre

Year: 1980 - 1983

Model: Blue Bird Conventional with a GMC C-series chassis,

ID: 6

Owner/Operator: Keweenaw Academy, Michigan

Location: Calumet, Michigan

When I was scanning these pictures, I was relieved to have noticed the red "inspection failed" sticker from the Michigan State Police, in the driver's side of the windshield.  This bus was in very poor shape at the time of photography.  Its front tires had cords showing, the sides were extremely rusty, and many of the cross members had rusted away from the underside of the bus and touched the ground.  The front, roof, and rear of the bus do look great, so perhaps this bus is fortunate enough to be going through some major restoration.
